Adam Rodgers is an American baritone, pianist, and music educator originally from Columbus, GA. His musical experience spans the genres of opera, musical theatre, choral repertoire, chamber music, sacred music, and black gospel music to name a few.
Adam Rodgers holds a Master of Music in Voice Performance from Temple University and a Bachelor in Music Education Degree from Oral Roberts University. While attending Oral Roberts University, he was the O.R.U. Chorale Accompanist for four years, vocal director of Travelers A Capella Singers for three years, music director of NuVoices Gospel International Ensemble for two years, and the accompanist for several recitals and concerts around the Tulsa tri-city area.
In his Spring 2024 season, Adam was selected as an Ader Emerging Artist with Charlottesville Opera Company under the baton of Brian Damaris where he portrays Charlie Cowell in Meredith Wilson’s The Music Man and performs in various concerts in the Charlottesville area. In his 2023 season, Adam made his role debut as Peter (Father) in Engelbert Humperdink’s Hänsel und Gretel with Temple Opera Theater under the baton of Keith Chambers and direction of Ben Robinson respectively. In addition, Adam made his role debut as Rapunzel’s Prince in Stephen Sondheim’s Into the Woods with the Janeic Opera Company of Brevard Music Center. In past seasons, he has been seen on stage as Schaunard in La bohème at the Seagle Festival in New York and as Aeneas in Purcell’s Dido and Aeneas with Oral Roberts Opera Theatre. In addition, Adam was the guest pianist for An Evening at the Philbrook Museum of Art in Tulsa, Oklahoma, Tulsa Opera’s Puccini to Pop at the Tulsa Performing Arts Center, and the 8x88 Piano Festival with Steinway Artist Donald Ryan from 2015 to 2018.
As a passionate music educator, Adam taught two semesters of Vocal Pedagogy and Technique to Non-Music Majors and Non-Vocal Music Majors as a teaching assistant at Temple University. While attending Temple University, Adam was the recipient of the Eric Owens Music Scholarship and the Phillip Cho Music Scholarship in honor of esteemed voice professor Dr. Phillip Cho. Furthermore, he has served from 2019 to 2022 as general music teacher and choral instructor for grades K-12 in Bixby, Oklahoma and McAlester, OK respectively where he oversaw the Bixby children’s honor chorus and the McAlester intermediate and high school choirs in those years. During these three years of instruction, he was awarded the Spartan Spirit Award from Bixby Public Schools and the Professional Achievement award from McAlester’s Rotary Club.
